The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Registered Nurse either experienced or newly qualified to apply for the Acute Stroke Unit (ASU / Bersham Ward).
The Acute Stroke Unit is a 27 bedded Unit which is designed to accommodate Strokes from admission to discharge or transfer to the rehabilitation area once deemed medically fit.
We are immensely proud to be a BCUHB Silver Accredited ward.
Additional learning opportunities are available for staff to achieve their Advanced Life Support training.

Main duties of the job
SU houses an acute level 2 admission area that facilitates the holistic care of stroke patients post cerebral thrombolytic therapy. Bersham ASU provides a complete Multi-disciplinary team approach with all relevant therapies being based within the ward template and this allows smooth transition of care and collaborative working at its very best.
The acuity of the ASU will require the Registered Nurse to receive enhanced training within their preceptor- ship period followed specialist training from the Specialist Stroke coordinators.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
