Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a keen, highly motivated and caring individual to join our small friendly team of specialist urogynaecology nurses within gynaecology outpatients at Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation trust.

We are looking to recruit a Band 6 nurse with experience and qualifications in this field or someone who is willing to work towards this as part of a supported training pathway.  If you have a passion for women's health, have experience working within urogynaecology or gynaecology and have a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work, then we would like to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work alongside a consultant lead in Urogynaecology and a dedicated team of gynaecology nurses and support workers. The team provide a specialist service for women with pelvic floor and bladder dysfunction.

The post holder will be able to co ordinate and deliver an expert nurse led service including the management of prolapse, vaginal pessary, bladder retraining, catheter care, TWOC, PTNS, bladder instillation's, and provide medication reviews.

They will be able to work autonomously with excellent decision making and interpersonal skills ensuring the delivery of high quality care.

They will assist in the development of nurse led initiatives as part of the service developments to improve patient experience.

They will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and collaboratively with related specialties.

Working for our organisation

We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients’ homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.

We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.

We continue to modernise and invest in our health services to build on our strong reputation. Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services. They are part of the NHS – yet decisions about what they do and how they do it are driven by independent boards. Boards listen to their Council of Governors and respond to the needs of their members – patients, staff and the local community.

Foundation trusts provide what the health service wants, yet are also free to invest quickly in the changes to the local community needs, in striving to be the best, and in putting their patients first.
