An opportunity has risen for a fixed term post of Clinical Nurse Specialist for Urology Services. The post holder will take an active role in supporting the ongoing development of the urology service along with the General Manager and specialty lead to deliver a first class service for urology patients.
Main duties of the job
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced nurse to be part of a forward thinking team and service who will be responsible for providing highly specialist nursing care and advice to patients on urology pathways of care. You will have excellent interpersonal skills with an organized approach to work, the ability to prioritize and delegate and to work effectively as part of a team. You must have demonstrable leadership skills and evidence of change management skills. You will be expected to promote programs of health education and health promotion and to communicate effectively with GPs and the multi-disciplinary team across organizational and professional boundaries.
You will work closely with the Planned Care group Matron who is responsible for our inpatient services at the BRI as part of the Urology, Vascular Clinical Service Unit to ensure the provision of seamless care for Urology patients.

You must be clinically credible with the ability to problem solve and make clinical decisions. The post holder will work in collaboration with the Speciality Lead and General Manager for the Clinical Business Unit. It is an expectation that the post holder will support the team with the development of the service through the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYATT), a collaborative of NHS Hospitals from across West Yorkshire and Harrogate working together to provide the best possible care for our patients.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Post registration experience at Band 5 (minimum of 1 years)
- Experience of caseload assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care demonstrating knowledge of specific patient needs
- Experience of working in an MDT and across organisational and professional boundaries
- Experience of participating in clinical audit
Desirable criteria
- Experience of participating in clinical audit
- Experience in policy development
- Budget and financial management experience
- Experience of leading/managing a team of staff
- Change management experience

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- RGN
- Post registration qualification / training in area of clinical specialty
