We are seeking a Registered Adult Nurse experienced in Acute Urgent Care and Emergency Nursing who is passionate, innovative, enthusiastic and self-motivated to support and develop the expansion of our education team where learning, improvement and excellence in nurse education will continue to develop to another level amongst our forever hardworking team.

 

 

Main duties of the job

As our Practice Educator you will support the Education Lead Nurse and Matron Team in designing and delivering training programmes across our large team of over 100 nurses, health care support workers, students and progressing health care professionals. You will coach, supervise and support the nursing teams whereby you will actively work clinically alongside the clinical team to further improve the delivery of an exceptionally high standard of nurse education to our nursing and wider workforce,  as well as provide informal teachings, ad hoc sessions, simulation teachings, observational work and design relevant materials to deliver effective nurse education to a high standard.

We recognise that high quality education and learning can positively influence the quality of patient care therefore working in collaboration with colleagues, you will work as directed by the Education Nurse Lead and support the development of a bespoke Emergency Nursing Education Strategy aligned to departmental, organisational, regulatory and governance requirements.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 2 years at Band 5 or above in an Emergency nursing environment
  • Experience of Triage, Streaming and Team leading clinically
  • Experience of supporting all learners with kindness and professionalism
  • Can demonstrate a high level of clinical practice
  • Team building experience and ability to work well within a multi- disciplinary team
  • Proven experience of training and assessment of learners of all levels in both the clinical area and relevant learning environments.
  • Formal teaching experience in the clinical or academic setting
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of improving practice and reducing risk
  • Key Trainer/ Train the Trainer experience in relevant skills
  • The management of change in relation to clinical practice
  • Experience of clinical audit/research activity
  • Experience of design and delivery of simulation training
  • Participates as an established faculty member in a teaching environment relevant to Emergency Nursing
  • Involved in Magnet 4 Europe within the Department and participates in the unit council’s improvement work
  • Experience of Practice Education / Lecturing related to Nursing

  • Understanding of what the NHS Constitution means to you, and your responsibilities to the public, patients and colleagues.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse
  • Qualified Assessor Supervisor/Supporting Learners in Practice or equivalent
  • Evidence of relevant continuous professional development
  • Full compliance of all mandatory training in line with trust expectations and contract
Desirable criteria
  • Health related degree or equivalent qualification / experience of working towards
  • Studied at Masters Level and obtained Masters level module and / or degree
  • Vocational assessor award
  • Post registration Emergency Nursing related qualification
  • Simulation qualification / module
  • Hold a recognized credible Leadership qualification / module
  • Post Registration Emergency Nursing related qualifications at Masters level
  • Completion of relevant Faculty of Emergency Nursing qualifications
