Job overview

CAMHS Practitioner - Band 6

The post holder will work as part of the Think Family Outreach Team with the aim to support children, young people and their families who are in emotional distress and either at risk of requiring crisis intervention from Crisis and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) or Acute Hospital Settings. The clinical offer is tailored to suit each individual young person/family's needs and focus on empowerment and skills

The post holder will provide clinical assistance and support in the delivery of a range of Psychoeducation interventions to support the crisis management and recovery.

you will be providing telephone support and advise to Children and Young people up to 18 years’ old and their families/Carers calling 111 option two/Crisis line seeking urgent help for their mental health. The post holder will provide initial triage as well as information, support, signposting and advice about managing mental health.

The team has a range of experience and qualifications and consists of band 3 and 4 support workers, qualified professionals, and a team lead

The interventions and treatments offered will be individual tailored to suit each young person’s and family’s unique needs as well as group sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria
  • Relevant Professional qualification, e.g., social worker, nurse, occupational therapist, psychotherapist, psychologist,
  • Current Registration with relevant professional body. Significant experience working with children and adolescents
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Professional knowledge acquired through degree/diploma

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Effective organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to assess and manage risk

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Substantial experience in mental health
  • Significant experience of undertaking assessment, formulation, risk assessment and positive risk management

OTHER

  • Able to travel independently
