Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual join the Pathway to Excellence® Team on a 9-month fixed term secondment. The successful candidate will facilitate our Shared Professional Decision-Making model at UHCW NHS Trust and contribute to the re-designation of the Trust’s Pathway to Excellence® programme.

This exciting post will provide the successful candidate with a supportive and dynamic work environment where your skills and leadership will make a direct impact, and where you will gain experience in working across the full breadth of clinical groups at UHCW.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual join the Pathway to Excellence® Team on a 9-month fixed term/secondment. The successful candidate will facilitate our Shared Professional Decision-Making model at UHCW NHS Trust and contribute to the re-designation of the Trust’s Pathway to Excellence® programme.

As a subject matter expert, you will lead and develop Shared Professional Decision-Making across the Trust; working closely with ward/department managers, nursing, midwifery and AHP staff and the Practice Development Team to ensure a positive practice environment is fostered for the implementation of Shared Professional Decision-Making councils. The post holder will support the council chairs in the day to day running of their councils, facilitate leadership activities that integrate Shared Professional Decision-Making into practice.

Applicants must have a strong working knowledge of the  Pathway to Excellence® framework. a solid understanding of the Trust's Shared Professional Decision-Making model and experience as a member of a Shared Professional Decision-Making council.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Key requirements:

  • Registered Nurse or Midwife with current NMC registration
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Experience of delivering presentations, public speaking and report writing
  • Ability to inspire and engage other
  • Passion and motivation for excellence in care
  • Agreement from your current line manager to support release for the duration of the secondment

Eligibility: Please note this post is not suitable for applicants who are required to undertake the OSCE training programme. Applicants who do not have current valid NMC registration will not be considered for this post.
