Job overview
To support the Band 7 Practice Facilitator Midwife in facilitating training and development of nursing/midwifery/medical and support staff within all clinical areas including the implementation of evidence-based practice. Contributing to the continual development of training and education to ensure world class services at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.
The post holder will have a sound clinical knowledge with experience of disseminating training within the clinical environment. In addition, competence in IT skills to ensure training records are kept updated are essential to the role.
Main duties of the job
- Act professionally, developing the role of the nurse/midwife/and others in the best interests of the patient and profession in accordance with the relevant professional body codes of professional conduct.
- Maintain an identifiable clinical presence and undertake relevant clinical activities to maintain own clinical competency and to support staff in developing clinical practice.
- Ensure that evidence based practice is developed and implemented to improve patient care.
- Support corporate nursing/midwifery projects e.g. return to practice, newly qualified Midwives.
- Work collaboratively with other professional groups to maximise development opportunities and inter - professional learning opportunities.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Maximise opportunities to share good practices and innovations with colleagues locally and nationally.
- Represent the Trust on external professional groups and network with colleagues from other organisations as appropriate.
- Develop, implement and evaluate competency based training programmes and facilitate learning opportunities to meet the educational and skills development needs of nursing/midwifery staff, healthcare support workers and midwifery, nursing and medical students.
- Participate in curriculum development and joint professional development activities with other agencies e.g. Learning and Development Department, Coventry University, CCG to maximise learning opportunities
