Job overview

Clinical charge nurse /Sister to work in ward 32 Gastroenterology. The Successful candidate will be supporting the ward manager in the day to day management of the department. You will be working along side junior nurses and senior staff members in ensuring that high standard of care are being delivered to patients  

Ward  32 Gastroenterology is composed of a 35 bedded unit (Allocated to inpatient admission) with 2 day-case beds (Allocated for day procedure).

We are also opening  the Ambulatory unit within the ward to assess SIF patient

  • Gastroenterology is divided into 3 specialities:
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
  • Nutrition
  • Hepatology

Main duties of the job

A shift/team leader, providing clinical leadership and management support, developing and evaluating best practice within the Gastroenterology department. The post-holder will deputise for the department manager as required.

You will be expected to take some clinical and admin role to support the department during your shift.

  • Ensuring a safe environment for both service users and staff members 
  • Competent in the assessment of acutely ill patient and competent in administration of parenteral Nutrition and management of vascular lines.
  • Assisting junior members of staff with their learning and ward responsibilities
