An exciting opportunity has risen to join the UHCW Community Bladder and Bowel care Service, covering the City of Coventry and surrounding areas, based at City of Coventry Health Centre, near the City Centre. You will be working alongside a highly skilled workforce including a Bladder and Bowel Clinical Lead Nurse and Nurse Specialist, fellow Bladder and Bowel Sisters, and other experienced Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants.
Are you looking for an opportunity to significantly improve the quality of life of our patient group, supporting them with specialist continence assessment, treatment and continence management? We are looking for an experienced Nurse who has a passion for caring for patient with bladder, and/or bowel and pelvic floor dysfunction. Our service provides a range of Clinic and home patient contacts.
The role involves supporting Community Services staff with education around bladder and bowels dysfunction aiming to improve quality of care delivered by the wide multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support us with ongoing service improvement and development.

Main duties of the job
As a valued team member your development will be supported through a robust induction program, a value-based appraisal, one to one meetings, regular in-service training and clinical and managerial supervision. You will be work as part of a multi-disciplinary team so there is opportunity for joint working and collaborative learning across a range of Health Professionals who are supporting and delivering high standards of clinical care. Training opportunities are supported by our Lead Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Practice Based Facilitators and Learning and Development Team and is actively encouraged by Team Leads.
Our team is part of the UHCW Community Services Group which provides a 7-day service to the city of Coventry.
Our working hours are usually Monday – Friday between the hours of 08.00-1800 on a flexible basis to meet the needs of the service. You may be required to work outside of these hours. Applications for flexible hours will be considered on an individual basis. Car owner/driver with business car insurance is essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To perform advanced continence assessments for clients with bladder and/or bowel symptoms in a range of community and clinic settings. To use advanced clinical reasoning skills and assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition. To have continuing responsibility for the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of health care programmes for patients within a defined caseload.
To provide clinical leadership to registered and non-registered clinicians in the management of bladder/bowel dysfunction and provide clinical advice/support to patient/carers.
To participate in clinical audit within the Bladder and Bowel Care Service and offer wider audit support for Community Nursing Teams.
