Are you a nurse with skills and experience in Dementia and Older Adult Mental health? Are you looking for a new challenge? We have the opportunity for a nurse with Dementia and Older adult experience to join our expanding team at an exciting time for the service. 

We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic individuals who can work confidently on their own as well as being a team player. Good communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as knowledge of mental illness and dementia. You also need to be a driver with access to a car that can be used for business purposes, should be able to demonstrate the Trust's vision and values in practice and are motivated to be involved in innovation and service development. 

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role will involve completing duty activities and supporting the triage clinicians with any urgent work that presents. The role involves working both autonomously and as a team with colleagues across the Dementia and Older adult service.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Relevant Professional Qualification ie. RMN, DipCOT
  • Current unrestricted registration with HCPC/NMC
  • Relevant training and experience specialist short courses

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of policies and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of Equal Opportunities
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding of confidentiality
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply problem solving skills to a variety of situations
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply understanding safety issues

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial experience in a Community Mental health care setting
  • Developed specialist knowledge gained within a similar environment over a considerable period of time
  • Significant experience of undertaking assessment, formulation, risk assessment and positive risk management
  • Experience of safeguarding and investigations
