Job overview

Are you an Advanced Practitioner with a passion for caring for Women and their families prior to and following a diagnosis of breast cancer, if so we have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioners to join our established Breast Care team in Singleton Hospital.

You must have successfully completed the MSC in Advanced Practice and be a non-medical prescriber with a live portfolio which will be presented at interview.  You will be operating autonomously within an Advanced Practice field with a proven record of caring for patients and providing compassionate, supportive care and, excellent interpersonal skills and an expert clinical knowledge.

You shall work closely with the clinicians, nursing and wider MDT.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, acting within their professional boundaries and will provide care for patients from taking them through clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment.  They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care. 

As part of the Senior Nursing Team the successful candidate will be expected to lead on projects and improvement initiatives across the Service Group and Health Board as required. 

This is a complex area of care and the successful candidate shall be supported and mentored by a dedicated Consultant from within the team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Professional registration (NMC,HCPC)
  • Level 7 Education (Master’s Degree) relevant to area of practice.
  • In receipt or working toward Independent Authorisation of Blood Products (desirable if relevant to role)
  • Evidence of maintaining an Advanced Clinical Practice portfolio
  • Advanced specialist knowledge of patient pathways.
  • Advanced theoretical knowledge and practical experience to carry out clinical consultation and/or examination relevant to area of practice
  • Independent Prescribing qualification (if required for role).
Desirable criteria
  • Management/Leadership qualification or possess equivalent skills and experience.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive post registration clinical experience in advanced practice within speciality area.
  • Evidence of performing at Advanced Level of Practice.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
