Job overview
The post holder will support workforce development across all Clinical Services and Administration within Sutton Health & Care to ensure all staff have the appropriate knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to meet the needs of the local communities and the requirements of the NHS constitution.
The post holder will provide educational leadership to the teams supporting clinical services to provide the highest possible quality of placement experience; ensuring that those undertaking formal education and training are appropriately trained and educated as defined by the relevant regulator or professional body.

Main duties of the job
To support clinical placements for students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
To support coordination and quality management of the education and training provision across the Alliance
To provide leadership and effective role modelling for the delivery of team based high quality patient services.

Assist in the supervision and sign off of competency where appropriate to do so

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Support clinical education placements for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Recruit future supervisors from the GPN, community nursing and AHP workforce in line with professional requirements.
Develop and lead learning sets to support supervisors to meet their continuing professional development requirements.
Coordinate supervision provision and ensure the assessment of students is as required by the provider organisation.
Provide leadership for both education and service delivery.
Take responsibility for own professional development, maintaining a sound level of professional knowledge, skills and behaviour, meeting professional standards as appropriate.
Act as a role model within the health community demonstrating high standards of practice and a professional attitude at all times.
Maintain confidentiality and manage information sensitivity, acting as role model for colleagues.
To communicate effectively in difficult situations and sometimes
aggressive/antagonistic situations and provide constructive feedback.
Prepare to travel between providers, universities and offices as required.
Advise on budgetary recommendations highlighting cost savings, reduced DNA rates and value for money
