Waiting List Clerk

Location: Wexham Park Hospital

Hours: 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (11:30 AM – 4:00 PM) with the possibility of increasing to 6 hours per day.

We are looking for a Waiting List Clerk to join our professional team, providing high-quality inpatient and day case waiting list management services. This role is essential in ensuring patients are treated within the maximum waiting time permitted while delivering a professional, courteous, and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities:
✅ Maintain and manage waiting lists efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulations.
✅ Work closely with senior staff and patients, handling queries with professionalism.
✅ Ensure smooth coordination of inpatient and day case scheduling.

Main duties of the job

The Waiting List Clerk is responsible for managing inpatient and day case waiting lists, ensuring that patients receive treatment within the permitted maximum waiting times.

Key duties include:

Providing a high-quality and efficient waiting list management service.
Ensuring the timely scheduling of patients in accordance with guidelines.
Maintaining accurate records and updating patient information.
Communicating effectively with patients, clinical teams, and administrative staff.
Demonstrating exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
Working autonomously while contributing to the wider team.
Upholding a professional, courteous, and patient-focused approach.
This role requires professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage workloads efficiently in a healthcare setting.

Essential criteria
  • Good education to GCSE standard or equivalent experience
  • Numerate and literate with good command of spoken and written English
