Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trauma Lead Nurse Practitioner (TLN) who will lead in the delivery of highly professional trauma care to patients throughout SASH, while engaged with our trauma service. 

As an experienced Registered Nurse or Advanced Clinical Practitioner, your clinical & managerial leadership of the trauma service will inspire, motivate and empower healthcare professionals to be innovative and contribute to continuous improvement projects, which support the trusts performance agenda, improve quality care & patient outcomes.

Working in partnership with the Clinical Lead for Trauma, senior nurses and departmental managers, you’ll develop and implement a multi-disciplinary clinical research and academic service, trauma care education, shape audit and deliver the Trust’s trauma service strategy and objectives.

Your personal strengths and professional experience will help you to succeed:

  • As an excellent clinical role model and team leader to all staff.
  • In the development and delivery of trauma care.
  • Be an autonomous practitioner and an excellent role model and leader to all staff.
  • Facilitate the flow of trauma patients, through admission to discharge. 
  • In the support of Specialty Doctors within their care for traumatically injured patients.

To be fulfilled in this role, a passion for trauma care and ambition to help SASH attain Major Trauma Centre status will be key – working alongside the Major Trauma Clinical Network, and NHS England.
