Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a NMP who is keen to provide leadership and support to the ADHD branch of the neurodevelopmental team within the children and young person's service.
The Neurodevelopmental Service opened its doors in 2022 and as a service we are keen to use the latest research and guidance to provide a high quality needs led approach to assessment and produce clear reports from the assessments we complete.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure that there is assurance across the ADHD pathway and work closely with the ASD Clinical Lead and General Manager.
The role involves leading on the development of the ADHD branch of the service which will include coordinating a multi professional team and the development of the pathway using quality improvement processes. This will include assurance around ADHD nurse medication prescribing and diagnostic assessments.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Professional qualification as an RMN/RGN/RSCN/RNLD
- Mentorship qualification
- Qualification as a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP)
Desirable criteria
- Post graduate training/qualification relevant to area of work
- Additional leadership/management study
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of leading clinical practice/ service development / project work
- Experience of managing and/or supervising teams
- Experience working with Children and young people
- Experience of prescribing ADHD medication and facilitating ADHD diagnostic assessments
Desirable criteria
- Experience working within a Neurodevelopmental Service
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Experience of prescribing medication
Desirable criteria
- Further specific training/knowledge/understanding of additional clinical interventions such as DBT, CBT, ASD Adapted CBT, DDP, CAT, attachment and trauma training, ADOS assessments etc.
- Knowledge of the Thrive Model
- Ability to work with schools, social care teams and voluntary/3rd Sector organisations
