Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Alcohol Liaison Team are seeking a registered nurse (RGN/RMN) to join our small but impactful team at band 6 level, in a full time post at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. This presents an exciting opportunity to become part of an established and dedicated professional team covering Monday to Friday at the RSCH site, working across all specialties within the hospital.

A professional and compassionate attitude is required, alongside a passion for delivering exceptionally high standards of patient care. You will be involved in the identification, assessment, management and support of patients with alcohol excess/ alcohol dependence during their admission at RSCH. There are opportunities to support outpatient reviews for patients recently discharged from hospital, to enable their transition into community alcohol services.

You will be required to attend relevant MDTs within the hospital. You will work collaboratively with an extensive network of community partners (face to face and virtual) to support our patients in the community setting and reduce hospital attendances.

We are looking for either, a Band 6 Nurse looking for an opportunity to experience a specialist nurse role, or an experienced Band 5 Nurse looking for an opportunity to develop into a Band 6 role. There will be training/ shadowing opportunities within the post. Though much of the role is independent working, colleagues within the team will support you with time dedicated for daily team catch-ups/ monthly staff supervision. There is also a lead consultant for our service who supports the team with complex patient cases.
