Job overview

Urology Centre - Staff Nurse

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Band 5 Urology Nurse working out of Epsom Hospital's Urology Centre. We are looking to fill a nursing position with someone who is passionate about and committed to improving our service in a busy acute hospital.

By upholding high standards of clinical practise and care that are consistent with the Trust's core values, the goal of this position is to contribute to a competent, specialised Urology service that has a positive impact on the experiences of patients and carers.

Although our skilled nursing staff will give you thorough training and assistance, some surgical nursing experience is needed of you.

You will work alongside the Urology Nursing Team and Urology Consultants. Experience will be gained in a variety of therapeutic interventions/investigations in the urology sector, as well as comprehensive training and development assistance.

If you think that you have these skills including excellent communication and are interested in applying for this post then please contact: Joanna Cooper, Urology Lead Nurse, for an informal visit via email: [email protected].

Main duties of the job

This Band 5 post will involve overseeing a multifarious Speciality that encompasses flexible cystoscopy, urological therapies, lithotripsy, and outpatient clinics. The position will also provide training to assist with local template biopsy lists.

Working for our organisation

St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey. Our sites include St George’s Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).

After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.
