Job overview

The role of Chief Nursing Information Officer has become available at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.  This post offers a fantastic opportunity for the post holder to work at one of the most technologically advanced Acute Trusts in the country.  The Trust has embarked on a digital transformation journey, with the implementation of Epic as it's EPR system in June 2022.  The post holder will be instrumental in pioneering further improvements across the organisation as we continue to strive for further optimisation in our focus on patient care, productivity and efficiency.  

Main duties of the job

The Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) provides strategic digital leadership on behalf of and with the Chief of Nursing and Midwifery in collaboration with the Director of Transformation, Innovation and Digital Services in the Management, Delivery and Optimisation of the Digital development activities that support the safe and efficient design, implementation and optimisation in the use of digital eHealth solutions to deliver Nursing, Midwifery and AHP practice.

They serve as a champion, advocate and leader for the IM&T strategy working with the CCIO and Director of Transformation, Innovation and Digital Services to transform the trust to one of the countries Advanced Digital Mature Organisation.

Experience

  • Excellent communication skills including ability to articulate NMAHP issues to technical colleagues and conversely technical aspects to non-technical colleagues
  • Significant experience and understanding of the value that digital technology and information brings to improving quality of care, outcomes and efficiency
  • Experience of undertaking transformation change management
  • Experience of engaging with broad range of internal and external stakeholders
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of Epic EPR

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable breadth and depth of understanding of current NHS landscape and policy and ability to interpret and implement in clinical practice.
