The post holder will be based at West Suffolk Foundation Trust (WSFT) within the Emergency Department, under the Medical Division.
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) will use a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making alongside demonstrating the four pillars of practice, Clinical Practice, Leadership and Management, Education and Research in providing healthcare that enables innovative solutions to enhance experience and improve outcomes within their speciality area.
The ACP is accountable for independent clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice. In addition to this the ACP is also responsible for appropriately referring patients to relevant specialities for any necessary inpatient or outpatient investigations as well as facilitating safe patient discharge.

STAFF CAR PARKING
Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 – 18:30.
For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website.
This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete “on call” duties within their role.

Education and qualifications
Essential criteria
- • Professional Registration with either NMC, GPhC or HCPC.
- • Possession of 1st degree in a clinical field e.g., Nursing, physiotherapy at a minimum 2:2 classification
- • Possession of MSc in Advanced Practice or recognised equivalent by HEE Centre Advancing Practice
- • Non-Medical Prescribing (v300) if appropriate to registered profession /role
- • Significant post qualification experience [minimum 4 years] in a relevant clinical field.

- • Completed portfolio of supervised practice in advanced clinical practice.
- • Evidence of continued professional development following MSc completion.
