Job overview

We are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate a passion in working within Liaison Mental Health Services. Liaison Psychiatry services address the mental health needs of people being treated for their physical needs within the general hospital in Accident and Emergency and people admitted to general acute wards.

 

This post is for a substantive full-time Operational Lead who will be based in Shropshire Care Group at Princess Royal Hospital. 

 

The expectation is that the Operational Lead will work flexibly alongside the Quality Lead and together with support from the team to provide robust leadership from 8am- 2am. The Team is commissioned to assess and support people from 16 years and above.

Main duties of the job

 

  • You will be working closely and be part of a collective leadership with the Liaison mental health leads based at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital which includes the Children and Young Person Clinical Nurse Specialist. You will be part of growing the multidisciplinary team to drive forward service developments and innovation. 
  • You will demonstrate experience in managing and leading teams to supporting individual staff needs and being efficient in the day to day running of the team including, meeting national targets, providing supervision, and supporting staff to meet the clinical delivery and service needs.
  • You will also work in collaboration with general acute colleagues, CRHT, inpatient mental health wards and a range of multi-professional partners to develop the provision and quality of mental health care within a general acute setting for patients and their families.
  • A key part of this role will be leading the team through expected changes at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trusts (SaTH), being able to effectively manage expectations and conflicts with partner agencies, to work within a budget and ensure the team are kept up to date with best practice standards through training and learning experiences.
