Job overview

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated nurse to join our Tuberculosis Clinical Nurse Specialist team ,  As part of the team you would play a significant role in the patient’s care pathway, supporting patients through their pathway, treatment journey and beyond, wherever possible responding to patients holistic needs. The CNS team works with the respiratory consultants to provide assessments and support of patients both in clinic settings and ward patients, as well as nurse led services and clinics.

As a support nurse working independently but within a team environment, you will need to demonstrate an ability to be highly self-motivated and have excellent communication skills. At least 2 years post registration experience is preferable and previous experience in respiratory medicine.

The successful candidate would demonstrate a willingness to participate in professional development. In-house training and mentorship will be provided at commencement in the post.

Main duties of the job

As a TB Nurse Specialist, the post holder will work as a part of the TB team in

delivering an effective TB service.

In particular, the post holder will:

Assist in the delivery of a high-quality Tuberculosis nursing service which is

accessible and responsive throughout the UHNM NHS Trust

and surrounding community to minimise and reduce the impact of

Tuberculosis (TB).

Work alongside other clinical colleagues to provide expert individualised care, treatment and support for this patient group and their families/carers independently in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in line with local and national targets. They will play a key role within this team in order to ensure a seamless, co-ordinated and timely approach to care.
