Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for innovative Band 5 Registered Nurses  in Central Treatment Suite at UHNS.

The successful applicants will be expected to have previous experience of working in a relevant clinical environment. These roles involve work subject to COSHH regulations and a high level of manual handling within regulations 

The expectation is that the post-holders will be highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals with excellent communication skills and be keen to develop their knowledge and skills to meet this demanding role. These key team players in the specialist ambulatory treatment suite are also expected to be instrumental in contributing to providing quality driven care of our patients. The ability to relationship build and network with the multi-disciplinary team is essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • The assessment of patient needs the development of programs of care and for the implementation and evaluation of these programs
  •  Carry out all relevant forms of care.
  •  Provide skilled assistance within the Ambulatory Surgery Department environment and to continue to develop enhanced surgical or treatment skills related to the specialty, commensurate with your level of competence
  •  Supervise and educate junior colleagues.
  •  To act as a role model to students and Nursing Assistants/Nursing Apprentices.
  • To take charge of a specific Ambulatory Surgery/Treatment clinical suite and assessed to be competent.
  • To present a positive professional image of the organization and the Ambulatory team.
