Health Care Support Worker – Band 3 – Ward 2, Harplands Hospital:
There is an exciting opportunity to work as a Health Care Support Worker Band 3 within Ward 2, Harplands Hospital. We are searching for extra special Health Care Support Workers who have experience, passion and pride when caring for patients and this vacancy would suit someone who is looking for an exciting opportunity and wants to work on an Adult Acute Inpatient Ward. As a Trust we offer flexible working ie. early, late, night and twilight shifts.
Ward 2 is an acute ward for males of working age. We offer assessment and initial treatment for males with a variety of mental health needs, and work closely with other services to ensure ongoing recovery. We pride ourselves in offering intuitive, person centred interventions and we keep people at the heart of everything we do.
The post is based at the Harplands Hospital and we offer free parking to all staff as well encouraging staff to develop their careers and we support the Training Nurse Associate and Nurse Apprentice schemes. There is also an opportunity to obtain your Mental Health Certificate.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
· To provide support, and spend therapeutic time with an allocated group of service users.
· To promote and support the physical health, comfort, wellbeing and recovery of service-users, and to assist them in re-establishing their place in the community, as appropriate.
· To assist Registered Professionals in assessments and care planning/ implementation and evaluation of individualized care plans.
· To provide support and day-to-day supervision to junior staff members, demonstrating the Health Care Support Worker role and role modelling good practice.

§ Communicates with service-users and carers, all members of the multi-disciplinary team and staff in external agencies using a variety of methods including Information Technology.
§ Regularly reports and effectively communicates service-users health status and care aims in care records and verbal reports to Registered Health Professional staff members and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. (query blending the above two – first is about patients/public, second is healthcare staff)
§ Relates appropriately with service-users, carer's, colleagues and others – at all times maintaining professional boundaries.
§ At all times ensures that own actions, support the equality, diversity, rights and responsibilities of individuals.
§ Identifies, minimizes and reports risks of danger, harm and abuse to senior colleagues.
§ At all times minimizes risks to self and others by undertaking safe working practices.
§ At all times works within agreed and established Trust policy and operational procedures.
§ Works with other Trust services to promote seamless service-user person centred care from referral/admission, to transfer and discharge on identified care pathways.
§ Responsible for contribution towards planning and undertaking delivery of planned therapeutic activities with an identified group of service users.
