Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised individual with experience in research to provide clinical trial support across two Trusts: Midlands Partnership University Foundation Trust and North Staffs Combined Healthcare Trust. You will support mental health and dementia research, as well as research in other physical health areas such as vaccines and long term conditions.

 

The post will be based at MPFT’s research site at Haywood Hospital, Stoke on Trent, but you must be able to travel across Staffordshire.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the recruitment, education and monitoring of trial participants as well as the collection and documentation of accurate data, including collection and management of samples. You will also work on our community research bus across the local area.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will lead on joint working initiatives between the two Trusts, working autonomously as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, with responsibility for your own portfolio of clinical research studies.

You will  be responsible for the recruitment of participants onto clinical trials via different routes within hospital and community settings

You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of complex research projects, in line with agreed timescales and plans; working with the R&I Research Governance team to ensure that all appropriate approvals have been gained prior to research studies commencing.

You will maintain effective communication between patients, carers, clinicians and manager to ensure safe service delivery.

You will evaluate research protocols, patient information and GP letters and ensure that information about clinical trials is clearly and appropriately communicated to research participants.

You will manage the research related aspect of care for participants of several research studies, which may cover different health specialties.

  • Relevant degree / Registered Nurse or AHP

  • Masters qualification or Good Clinical Practice
