We are seeking an experienced nurse to join the sister/charge nurse team on the infectious disease’s wards. You need to be highly motivated to provide excellent patient care, demonstrate a proactive approach to professional development, have an appropriate mentorship qualification and be committed to service development.
The successful candidate will be expected to be an excellent role model leading clinical care, supporting less experienced staff, managing resources effectively and acting in a pivotal role in the patients' journey and within the MDT.

To lead the nursing team in the delivery of the highest level of clinical practice to patients with a diverse range of diseases of infection in the in-patient wards and outpatient department.
Actively contribute to the management and development of seamless, multi-disciplinary care to patients and their carers.
To be accountable for managing all grades of staff, as the line manager for the Department and in the absence of the Senior Sister, take overall responsibility for the planning, practice, and evaluation of nursing care.
Act as a professional resource to the multi-disciplinary team caring for people with diseases of infection.
The Sister/Charge Nurse leads the nursing team in the delivery of excellent care to patients with a diverse range of infections. They contribute to the management and development of seamless, multi-disciplinary care for patients and their carers. They support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, and in their absence, take responsibility for the planning, practice and evaluation of nursing care supporting all junior grades of nursing staff and escalating any issues to the senior nursing team.

Qualifications

- Registered General Nurse.
- First level degree in related subject (or working toward).
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.

- Masters level degree.
Experience

- Extensive post registration experience at Band 5.
- Extensive experience within acute care setting.
- Relevant experience of caring for people with infections.
- Evidence of delivering education and training to patients and staff.
- Evidence of working collaboratively within multi- disciplinary teams.
- Evidence of leadership and management in an acute setting.
- Evidence of applying research and audit in practice.
- Evidence of successfully managing & evaluating change.
- Evidence of effective resource management.
