Job overview

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse  to join our existing psychosis pathway. You will join our multi-disciplinary team of  experienced, knowledgeable and friendly people which consists of Consultant Psychiatrist, Consultant Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist Mental Health Nurses, OT's, Psychotherapy and health care support staff. 

Do you have a passion for working with people with psychosis and a drive to promote recovery utilising person centred care. You will be the lead professional for reviewing, planning and implementing evidence based care and will provide professional advice and support to other agencies and members of the multidisciplinary team. You will also act as a role model and resource for junior/less experienced staff.

We are a high performing service and continue to innovate to improve access to specialist advice. The core hours are 37.5 per week to be worked flexibly over 5 days.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must demonstrate a flexible approach, evolving around the needs of service users, their families and significant others. The role involves working as a team member, with the responsibility of a caseload within the psychosis pathway. 

You will be responsible for the assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of the evidence-based care. The role includes risk and safety assessment and intervention.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent team working skills, who is keen to develop their knowledge and skills in this area. You should be a competent and motivated practitioner with appropriate demonstrable experience.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional qualification RMN.
  • Evidence of continuous post registration training.
  • Mandatory training, including managing violence and aggression
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of post qualifying basic training in psychosocial interventions.
  • E.N.B. 998 or equivalent (can supervise students).
