Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for caring, compassionate and enthusiastic Emergency Nurse Practitioner in our Minor Injuries Unit.
As an ENP you will be a valued member of the team, providing high quality care to patients, in a professional, compassionate and competent manner.
This is a senior Nursing role within the organisation and there is an expectation that the post holder will fully participate in the leadership and delivery of high quality patient care within the Care Group.
The post holder will be a practitioner within their speciality field, assessing and treating patients with minor injuries.
*This role will involve cross site working across all 3 sites*
Main duties of the job
The prime function of the role is to provide clinical expertise in supporting the delivery of high standards of nursing care for patients within their care.
Work collaboratively with the multi professional team to develop and maintain a quality service for patients within speciality.
To provide expert clinical nursing, education and advice in all aspects of the speciality.
Facilitate an improvement in the quality of health and outcome of care to this client group.
To act as a source of clinical expertise and knowledge for patients, carers and health professionals, as well as other agencies involved in this speciality.
To work in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams both in hospital and the community, in the provision of optimal care, to improve quality of life.
The post-holder is responsible for supporting the continuous improvement of quality of services and safeguarding high standards of care by sustaining an environment in which excellence in clinical care can flourish.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant post registration experience at Band 5 or above
- Broad knowledge of Emergency Care
- Experience in Walk-in Centre / Urgent Care Centre
- Teaching research / Evidence-based practice
- Up to date knowledge of DOH and NICE guidelines
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of audit or research experience
- Experience as Sister/Charge in Emergency Department OR minimum 3 years ED, Emergency Nurse experience
- Ability to work with and use PGDs
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- First level Registered Nurse – current registration.
- Degree in Nursing
- Mentorship / Nurse Advocate Course
- ENP – Minor Injuries Post-Graduate Course – Level 6/7
Desirable criteria
- Independent Nurse Prescribing
- Minor Illnesses Course – Level 6/7
Interpersonal Skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
