We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate Community School Staff Nurse to join our established friendly team. Our team deliver the The Healthy Child Programme 0-19 Public Health service in Telford and Wrekin.
Our school nursing team supports health and wellbeing programmes for all children and young people aged 5-19 in schools and the wider community. As part of your role you will support children and young people with aspects of emotional and physical health to improve their health outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking team who have innovative approaches for the delivery of a visible and accessible school-based service.
The candidate will need to be flexible as they are required to work across Telford to support the delivery of Health Promotion and key health messages, in our schools and local communities.
We are looking for a Community School Staff Nurse who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to a team who are working and improving the health outcomes for children and young people. The Public Health 0-19 service has strong working relationships with partner agencies including schools and our local community.
You will work under the direction of the School Nurse and will deliver allocated components of the Healthy Child Programme, both in Safeguarding and Public Health.

To assist the Specialist Public Health Nurse in the management of delivery of the Healthy Child Programme 0-19 (25 SEND).
- Management of a defined caseload of school aged children, promoting health, preventing ill health, identifying health needs and recognising unmet health needs by use of evidence based practice.
- To support and promote health to improve outcomes of children and young people within Telford and Wrekin.
- Give support and advice on a whole range of issues that supports the health of child/ young person e.g. immunisation, nutrition, life style issues, emotional and behavioural issues. Promoting local and national public health messages.
- Support children in health drop ins in a school environment.
