We are currently looking for a dynamic Staff Nurse to join our team on The Discharge Lounge at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for a safe discharge of our patients from the discharge lounge to their destination.
- Making sure discharge letters and medications are with the patient before discharge
- Patient centred care, assessing individual patient care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating plans of care for a group of patients in accordance with agreed policies and professional guidelines.
- Transferring patients from the wards to the discharge lounge in a timely manner to help with capacity and flow.
- Making sure all referrals are made for our patients who need them.
- To take charge of the ward for a span of duty, normally working under the supervision of senior staff.
- To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Current registration with the NMC
Desirable criteria
- Mentorship qualification.
Experience
Essential criteria
- NHS experience either as a registered nurse or on a nursing student placement
- Experience of working in an acute healthcare environment
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable criteria
- Post qualification experience of working in an acute NHS Trust.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
