Job overview
• Has a responsibility for the provision of specialist clinical services and to
advise employees on the prevention of ill health and other aspects of
work related health problems.
• Will have continuing responsibility for assessing clinical care needs and
developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical care programmes in
accordance with agreed policy.
• Expected to accept delegated responsibility for the management of dayto-day clinic activity.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Provide clinical advice and practice that is based on the specialist knowledge
and skills of Occupational Health nursing.
Undertake pre-employment health assessments for all potential employees in
accordance with the DOH guidelines and Occupational Health policy with
particular reference to “exposure prone procedures”.
Identify, plan, and maintain the administration of the vaccine and immunisation
regimes, relevant to the occupational, as per local guidelines and policy.
Undertake and manage own caseload of managerial referrals in accordance
with Occupational Health policies.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Evidence of personal development in speciality
- Significant post registration experience in Occupational Health
- Experience in Nurse led Practice
Desirable criteria
- SCPHN – OH
- Health & Safety NEBOSH
- Diploma Level Teaching Assessing and Supervision
- Health Promotion qualifications
- Working towards Occupational Health Certificate/Diploma/Degree or already achieved
Essential and Desirable
Essential criteria
- NMC part 1 registered
- Health Promotion experience
- Working knowledge of current Health & Safety Regulations
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within the NHS

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
