Job overview

We are looking for a Band 7 Nurse/ODP to support the delivery of the Divisional and Trust clinical governance agenda, relating to patient safety, clinical risk, and clinical outcomes in NOTSSCaN theatres.

The successful Candidate will require a minimum of 5 years theatre experience.   

Main duties of the job

The post holder will maintain and implement effective governance 
processes within the Directorate, to provide assurance on the quality of 
patient care, and facilitate the Directorate’s plans for improvement. 
The post holder will maintain their clinical expertise by working 20% 
clinically to support the senior management team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

NOTSSCaN theatres comprise of 27 operating theatres and associated Satellite sites across 3 sites. We deliver highly specialized care to adults and Children,  we are a major trauma center and referral center for many other specialist services. 

The assurance coordinator will work alongside the multidisciplinary teams to provide a safe and effective environment for our patients and staff.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in theatre practice.
  • Educated to degree level
  • Has worked as a band 6 in the theatre environment/critical care
  • Has an understanding of clinical governance and assurance
  • Professional registration
Desirable criteria
  • PG cert or working towards a higher qualification
  • Previous experience of working in assurance and governance
