Job overview

Ward 24 is a mixed medical ward which accommodates a variety of specialities mainly Haematology, Cardiology and  General Medical  ward where patients are treated for a variety of acute conditions.

The Ward is a modern 24 bedded clinical area with en-suite facilities for 12 single room areas.

We have a well-established medical team which we work with daily and ward based multidisciplinary staff to provide the patients with patient centred care.

Main duties of the job

We would offer a regular appraisal giving opportunities for development & professional growth and would encourage regular trust training & development study days to promote and enhance skills and knowledge.

We have a very friendly well-established nursing team who are dedicated to sharing their skills & knowledge with new and junior staff and we host an excellent clinical area with many possibilities for staff to progress professionally.

  • First Level Registered Nurse
Desirable criteria
  • Critical care skills
  • Willing to attend short courses related to research
  • Evidence of further education.

Further Training

Desirable criteria
  • Change management and leadership skills.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • 997 and 998 or FLIPS
  • Cannulation and venepuncture.
  • ILS

Experience

Desirable criteria
  • Experience in an acute setting
