Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic dynamic registered nurse to join our Stroke rehabilitation Unit, which is a friendly and supportive ward.

The post holder will have experience of working in an acute NHS setting,  with stroke experience desirable.  The post holder should have relevant leadership and management skills, be able to time manage and prioritise actions and should be  instrumental  in providing a high standard of nursing care. You should be able to demonstrate that you are a motivator and an influencer and be able to assist in developing the junior staff. 

We are looking for a nurse who can help develop the already excellent service provided on Daybrook ward.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will act as Deputy to the Ward Sister will be required to:

  • Act as the deputy to the ward sister regularly taking charge of the ward and ensuring that the standards and quality of care given to patients, together with the environment in which care is delivered, are maintained at a high standard.
  • Be an effective leader and role model and will be expected to provide regular direct clinical care and use experience to support the implementation of both clinical and non clinical governance.
  • Work flexibly as a member of the ward team and in support of the Ward Sister to ensure standards are being maintained, evaluated, and where necessary improved. 

The post holder is required to be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
