An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time permanent ward housekeeper working alongside a large multidisciplinary team.

Fleming ward is a 31 female respiratory ward. It specialises in the treatment of patients with COPD, PE, Asthma and other respiratory issues

We are looking for an individual, who is enthusiastic, confident; self-motivated and possess good communication skills, enjoy a challenge and can work as part of a team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for the ensuring the ward is stocked with the necessary equipment. You will help with the smooth running of the ward and work proactively as part of our multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the ward, whilst also taking responsibility for aspects of stock maintenance and control. The main elements of the role will include cleaning, keeping the ward stocked with equipment and supplies, maintenance service referrals and liaisons and being a proactive team player within the unit.

The successful candidate will need to show that they can work independently as well as demonstrate effective time management skills.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful candidate will work with material management to ensure correct stock levels are maintained and that stock is correctly stored and maintained, the use of E-Series will also be essential to order non-stock items.

The role will also be responsible for ensuring electrical equipment is PAT tested in line with Health and Safety, to ensure the ward is safe for staff, patients and relatives. 

Assisting with mealtimes and covering  reception at times.

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience in dealing with customers, patients or clients within the healthcare setting.
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working within Nottingham university hospitals trust.
