The Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust’s Occupational Health Department is well established and highly successful, and boasts an excellent reputation both on a local and regional level.
We offer a range of high quality services including infection screening and immunisation, infectious outbreak contact tracing, fitness for work assessments, advice on sickness absence management, advice on stress management, assessment for long-term disability benefits or ill-health retirement, health surveillance, health promotion, training and education.
We are seeking to recruit an Occupational Health Lead Nurse. We are looking for someone who is a natural role model, who consistently demonstrates the Trust values with a passion for supporting and developing others while providing visible leadership to motivate and inspire their teams.
Working with a vision of “delivering excellence in everything we do”, the Occupational Health Nursing Lead will work with the Medical and Administrative Leads and the Head of Occupational Health and Staff Wellbeing to provide professional leadership and management across the Occupational Health Service being responsible for the Nursing Team.
This is a 12 month fixed term/secondment opportunity.

The Occupational Health Nursing Lead will be accountable for the efficient and effective operational management of the nursing workforce, guaranteeing provision of high quality evidence based nursing practice, which will be delivered within a hospital, community and outreach setting.
The Occupational Health Nursing Lead will be a strong clinical leader, easily identifiable, highly visible and accessible to service users, business partners and staff. They will have a particular responsibility to support the developments of Clinical Governance (including SEQOHS), be the Clinical Lead for IT systems and Service Improvement, to modernise services and ensure the active involvement of service users and partners in the way Occupational Health services are developed, delivered and evaluated.
The Occupational Health Nursing Lead will provide strong clinical leadership within the Service and be highly visible and accessible. Leading by example, he/she will drive up standards of clinical care and have the authority to get the essential components of care right, - quality care, ensuring service users are treated with dignity and respect, resolving problems/complaints for service users and partners and ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the Services.

We are a friendly team of around 35 staff consisting of doctors, nurses, counsellors, technicians and admin who work together to deliver an occupational health service to our own Trust and private organisations which we deliver from both Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital sites.
Our department offers this service Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 and 4:30 excluding bank holidays.

- Qualified Nurse Practitioner Registered with appropriate regulatory body (NMC.)
- Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Part 3 NMC)
- Good general knowledge of the NHS and current clinical standards within Occupational Health services
- Understanding of GDPR and its impact on Occupational Health services
- Specialist knowledge of governance and risk management

- Masters degree or equivalent post basic training
