The Neurology Team here at NUH are delighted to offer a fantastic 12 month secondment opportunity for a Band 6 Headache Nurse Specialist post.
This post would be an ideal opportunity for a Registered Adult Nurse to develop and enhance existing clinical skills and knowledge in the specialist field of headache management.
The successful candidate will join our existing Headache nurse in providing direct clinical care as well as advice and support to patients, families, carers and other health professionals.
Additional education and training will be available for the successful applicant.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will be working alongside an established epilepsy team comprising of a Lead Headache Nurse Specialist and a team of Consultant Neurologists.
You will be play an active role in :
Our dedicated headache clinics
Offering a telephone advisory service for patients, families and carers
Liaising with other professions including:
Paediatric colleagues at NUH, Notts partnership healthcare trust - Intellectual Disability Service, Primary Care colleagues
You will be given opportunity to participate in more specialised headache related clinics such as Botox clinics where we provide Botox as a therapy.

- Degree in health care related subject
Experience

- 2 years speciality experience in neurology

- Experience of headache / pain management
Experience of using hospital systems

- Experience of using careflow and Notis
Nursing registration
Essential criteria
- Current NMC PIN number

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
