Clinical Nurse Specialist Nephrotic Syndrome

The EMEESY children's kidney network based at Nottingham Children's Hospital has a vacancy for a band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Nephrotic Syndrome.  This vacancy is to cover a one year secondment of the current post-holder for 15 hours per week.

The successful candidate will be a registered children's nurse with recent experience of children's renal nursing.  A non-medical prescriber course is desirable. Experience of haemodialysis is desirable as there will be an expectation to provide cover to the dialysis unit.

You will work alongside a multi-professional team to provide in-patient, out-patient and telephone care to patients throughout the region with the aim of managing patients a home and reducing hospital admissions.

 

 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

To manage the care of children and young people with nephrotic syndrome and other rare renal diseases.

To meet newly diagnosed patients as in-patients and educate families about the disease and treatments.

Organise follow up in local out-patients, shared care clinics and by telephone.

Liaise with local paediatricians regarding management of relapse.

Coordinate day case admission for monoclonal antibody infusion.

Cover the haemodialysis unit if required.

Manage the wider children's renal unit in the absence of the lead nurse
