We are looking for a keen and self-motivated individual who has experience of supporting work experience, apprentices and learners ideally within a healthcare setting.

You must be able to work autonomously and demonstrate strong leadership qualities.

The post holder must be able to work flexibly to meet the varying needs of supporting our education and service delivery. The post holder must hold Math and English
GCSES A-C or level 2 functional skills equivalent.

 

Main duties of the job

Ensure staffs kept up to date with manual handling, medical devices, blood collection and keep records to show training figures,


Work clinically with new starters to orientate them to the ward and help them to become a valued team member. Help them to become an effective and efficient HCA.


Assist on the HCA academy study days.


Be involved on the HCA recruitment day and help to interview and appoint new staff.


Become a back care assessor and support the division with training when required,


Work clinically on the ward when required

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post-holder is involved in the education, training and development of nonregistered nursing staff.


Works as an effective member of the clinical nursing team across the Specialty/Division to ensure all health care support workers are inducted, supported, proactively encouraged to acquire additional clinical skills, and providing effective and safe support to the registered nurses.


Contributes effectively to ensure the Trust and Division meet targets relating to learning and development.


Assists the registered nurses in providing assurance to the Senior Divisional Nursing Team that the non-registered staff team are competent, safe, compassionate, well trained, and caring and always put the patient first.


Is a positive and well-presented role model to all the staff.

The post holder will be instrumental in supporting the development of our healthcare assistants, apprenticeships, as well as supporting training and education across the haematology wards. You will also support staff to complete their care certificates, undertake manual handling updates and keep staff updated with medical devices.


You must be able to work autonomously and demonstrate strong leadership qualities.
