We are looking for a full time Band 6 OT, or Nurse, who is passionate about supporting people with Neurodiverse (ADHD , Autism , Learning Disability) needs and experienced in working within mental health/ forensic services, supporting people with complex needs, to come and join us in Offender Health. 

This post could be offered as a job share and part time applications will be considered.

We are looking for a person who  can help us to provide high quality equitable healthcare for people with Neurodevelopmental Conditions and deliver excellent mental health care and support. 

The post is based at HMP Morton Hall, Nottinghamshire. 

You will join a highly motivated and skilled team who provide integrated healthcare (physical, mental health and substance misuse services) to approximately 300 prisoners. 

This exciting post has been created for you to work as a valued member of a skilled and supportive prison mental health team.  You will be working to deliver two pathways of care (Mental Health and Neurodiversity) and will receive the support of the mental health matron in the prison and the wider Neurodiversity Team, working across prisons, including 8 practitioners , a   Specialist Clinician (OT) and Clinical Lead (Speech and Language Therapist).

The role requires delivering assessment , treatment and support for people who have Autism, ADHD, Intellectual/Learning Disability and mental illness in prison.

You be required to deliver against pathways designed to identify the needs of people with Neurodevelopmental Conditions, specifically, Autism, ADHD and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and mental illness, within your designated prison establishment.

You will directly provide screening, assessment and diagnosis, and support others to offer adapted psychosocial interventions.

You will hold a caseload of people who are identified to have needs associated with neurodevelopmental disorders and/or mental ill health.

You will provide psychoeducation, individual and group work and ensure continuity of care for men on release or transfer from your prison.

You will advocate for people with neurodevelopmental disorders within the prison system and promote best practice and the safety and wellbeing of patients with Neurodevelopmental Conditions. You will make recommendations for reasonable adjustments.

You will work to the Mental Health Clinical matron providing support for the mental health  pathway and working as part of this team.
