There is no option for this to be virtual or at a different time/date.

If you are a health care assistant currently working in the NHS or the private care sector and hold an NVQ level 2/3 we would love to meet you. 

We would welcome applications from those individuals with overseas nursing qualifications and who have the right to work in the UK who would like to study for OET/CBT/OSCE to become a registered nurse or those interested in accessing training to become a Trainee Nurse Associate.

You should be able to and prepare to work a 24/7 rota.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist and support registered staff in the delivery of high quality, individualised, dignified and compassionate care to patients.
  • To contribute to the effective running of the department by concentrating on tasks that directly support the needs of the patient and assists their journey, prioritising on patients as required.
  • To work under the supervision of a registered healthcare practitioner at all times, working within the parameters of their competence, communicating and documenting appropriate and relevant information to other members of the multidisciplinary team in a professional timely manner
  • The ability to work to a high standard at all times, influencing and role modelling patient centred care.
  • To promote protected meal times on the ward area with support from others.

Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Vocational Qualification/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of education, training or experience
  • Holds National Care Certificate or equivalent level of education, training or experience (e.g. able to demonstrate the skill and competency to undertake the clinical duties as described in the job description)
  • Holds Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English or education equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Speciality specific training and competencies achieved and ongoing development

Knowledge/Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience working in as a Healthcare Assistant in an healthcare, social care organisation/setting or service industry requiring people contact
  • Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control and Safeguarding processes
  • Experience of working in a healthcare team and patient settings
  • Experience of dealing with patient/relative verbal complaints

Essential criteria
  • Good communication and listening skills (written and verbal)
  • Able to work on own initiative, following direction/close supervision by a Registered Practitioner
  • Able to work as a team
  • Able to relate well with patients, relatives, visitors, colleagues, the multi-disciplinary team and wider Trust colleagues
  • Taking and recording Vital Signs and other clinical skills with evidence of appropriate training within scope of job role
