Candidates must have a full NMC Adult Nurse Registration, there is no option to be able to complete OSCE  for this role. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an Assessment Centre which must be attended in person and cannot be rearranged. A virtual interview will not be possible.

Deene B is a 24 bedded acute surgical ward . Our criteria is those who have an extended stay greater then 72 hours. Deene B is the ideal ward to learn and practice extended skills. We look after surgery and urology patients predominantly but also have palliative patients and occasionally head and neck patients who have undergone surgery.  The ward is supported by specialist nurses such as stoma nurses, acute pain nurses , palliative nurses and various others.  You will be supported on the ward by the ward Sister and Deputy Sisters. There are opportunities to learn and develop in your role. If you are newly qualified or an experienced nurse we would love to hear from you and have you join our established team.

We can offer full or part time working hours.  All our posts are internal rotation.

 

 

Main duties of the job

To assess and manage acutely unwell patients.  Including those who are pre and post operative and those patients with complex surgical conditions. To support colleagues and be an active team member. To undertake clinical skills as required.  You must have excellent communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues. To support the ward management team in delivering a high standard of patient care and to assist them to improve quality and patient safety in the ward environment. To work closely with specialist nurses and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
