Job overview
Successful candidates will be invited to an assessment centre on the 20th July 2024. This must be attended in-person on the day. We are not able to accomodate requests for remote interviews.
Vacancies have arisen within the four theatre departments for HCA's. This is an exciting opportunity to learn, develop and further your skills in theatres.
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated Health care assistants with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our friendly multidisciplinary team within Theatres. We have four departments covering a variety of specialties and our focus is in providing excellent, safe patient care. If you have good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast pace, busy environment this is an ideal role for you. You will be required to work flexible shifts, inclusive of weekends. Previous experience is desirable; but we are willing to provide training and support and there will be opportunities to go on to further development roles within Theatres.
Main duties of the job
To perform all Health Care Assistant (HCA) duties in support of theatre staff and patients in the peri-operative environment. The role will be worked over a 7 day service provision within our Trust standards and specifications under the direction of the lead Theatre Practitioner. This role will be fundamental in promoting the highest standards of service delivery and customer care.

Qualifiactions
Essential criteria
- Educated to Vocational Qualification/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of education, training or experience
- Holds National Care Certificate or equivalent level of education, training or experience (e.g. able to demonstrate the skill and competency to undertake the clinical duties as described in the job description)
- Holds Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English or education equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Speciality specific training and competencies achieved and ongoing development
Knowledge/Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience working in as a Healthcare Assistant in an healthcare, social care organisation/setting or service industry requiring people contact
- Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control and Safeguarding processes
- Experience of working in a healthcare team and patient settings
- Experience of dealing with patient/relative verbal complaints
