Job overview
We’re looking for nursing staff with enthusiasm, strong communications skills and who are driven to provide excellent patient focused care. This is an exciting opportunity for flexible individuals to work within our York & Scarborough women’s units. This offers a chance to support clinics in the Early pregnancy assessment unit (EPAU), Gynaecology assessment unit (GAU), Colposcopy and hysteroscopy clinics. The clinics operate 7 days a week between 08:00-am-19.30pm.
The successful candidate will be a team player with a strong desire to provide compassionate care and empower others within a friendly and supportive environment. You must be able to work well as part of a team and be able to use your initiative and work well under pressure. This would suit candidates with an interest or experience in gynaecology.
Please note there are 2x 21.5 hour positions available. There will be some expectation to work across site.
Main duties of the job
- Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
- Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
- Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
- Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
- Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands
- Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures
