Are you passionate about providing excellent standards of care in a specialist nursing role?

The Tissue Viability Specialist Nursing Team has an exciting opportunity to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic individual to the role of Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist.

The role carries responsibility for the assessment of patients with complex wound related issues, so sound experience in the diagnosis and management of all wound types is essential. The post holder will also provide education and training to practitioners.

The post holder will contribute to the development of the Tissue Viability Service and ensure cost effective use of resources.

The role will be based at Scarborough Hospital, but requires flexibility to work cross site including community settings.

Access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes and hold a full and valid driving licence (role will involve travel to numerous addresses that cannot be easily accessed by public transport means) is required.

  • Act in accordance with the NMC code of conduct.
  • Provide a high standard of wound care, acting as a role model to all clinical staff.
  • Undertake clinical procedures specific to the role.
  • Make clinical assessments and treatment decisions using specialist clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and liaise with the multi disciplinary team to ensure seamless provision of care.
  • Provide training and education to learners, junior staff, patients and carers. 
  • Promote evidence based care and implement policy and practice guidelines specific to Tissue Viability.
