Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people's and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.
At any one time, around 23,000 people in Norfolk and Suffolk are receiving care and attention from the Trust. Sandringham Ward is an acute assessment ward for older people with mental health challenges. We are looking for someone to join our Team who is approachable and comfortable with helping people from diverse range of backgrounds, sexual orientation, culture, religion.
You need to have the ability to have a non-judgmental attitude and be an active listener and be perceptive to notice any changes in the patients. We are looking for someone who can be calm in difficult circumstances or in crisis. Have an awareness of and the ability to adhere to strict confidentiality rules. Be able to commit to time required for working on the wards (rotated shifts, shifts information below for your attention)

You will be working closely with all the patients delivering a high standard of care using good communication skills to engage with the patients, supporting with personal care when required. Be able to do physiological observations and know how to and who to report any concerns found. There will be the opportunity for development and learning new skills such as phlebotomy, doing ECG', supporting with monitoring of clinical equipment. As part of the Team you will be expected to attend all mandatory training and keep up to date with your training records.
Sandringham Ward is currently doing long days and nights. The expectation of the role will be to work over a 24 hour rotation.
