Job overview

“The mission of the Norfolk and Waveney Eating Disorder service is to build meaningful, therapeutic relationships with young people and their families. Instilling hope, enabling change, and supporting recovery”.

We are delighted to be recruiting a dedicated registered band 6 eating disorder clinician to join our adolescent Eating Disorders Intensive Treatment Team (EDITT). The role is offered on a full time-time basis (37.5 hours per week) and may include some weekend virtual working. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a service which is regionally leading the way in Eating Disorders day treatment and is expanding their day and virtual intensive offer.

We offer you a supportive team environment, supervision, reflective practice groups and ongoing CPD opportunities.

Main duties of the job

You will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team which is responsible for delivering high quality care to young people and their families. This will predominantly be clinic based, covering the day and virtual intensive programme but interventions in the community or on acute wards may occasionally be required.

You will be taking responsibility for providing family-based assessment, NICE concordant treatment and care reviews to young people with a diagnosis of an eating disorder, often with co-morbidities, neurodiverse presentations and complex needs. In collaboration with the team and parents/carers you will deliver a structured treatment plan that offers a range of therapeutic approaches appropriate to clinical need. You will take a role in facilitating and/or co-facilitating groups with patients and their carers, providing family interventions and working closely with young people accessing the service.

You will offer emotional and practical support to young people during and  around mealtimes, provide individual and family-based interventions, and promote the dignity and esteem of patients at all times.
