Staff Nurse - Marham Ward
Band 5
Job overview
We are looking for professional, compassionate Registered Nurses to join our established and dedicated team on Marham Ward. We are a 33 bedded fast paced endocrine and medical ward.
Are you willing to make a change to healthcare and patients that are in your care? Are you willing to go that extra mile for your patients and really make a difference?
If you answered yes to those questions, then we want to hear from you!
This vacancy is for Registered Nurses with full NMC registration in the UK. If you are an internationally trained nurse that has not passed their OSCE (objective structured clinical examination) you will not be considered for this role and will be automatically rejected, so please do not apply.
However we do support Internationally Trained Nurses with their OSCE through the Norfolk and Waveney Recruitment Hub [email protected]. Please note that we adhere to the NHS Code of Practice and cannot recruit from ‘red list countries’ https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/code-of-practice-for-the-international-recruitment
“If you are a new registrant, we look forward to welcoming you onto the RCN accredited Preceptorship Academy at the QEH. This programme offers a supportive development transition into your new role as a registered member of the team. If you would like further information, please email the team [email protected]”
Main duties of the job
As a Registered Nurse you will work with all members of the Ward/Department clinical team and within the multi-disciplinary framework.
You will maintain a high standard of patient care under the direction of the Ward/Department Sister/Charge Nurse, taking the lead in clinical areas when competent, in the absence of a senior member of staff.
This role requires you to practice and adopt the National 6 C’s which are Care, Compassion, Communication, Commitment, Competence and Courage. The 6Cs of Nursing stand for the professional values and behaviours and commitment to always deliver excellent care to our patients.
Working for our organisation
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King's Lynn is West Norfolk has a superb unspoilt coastline with pretty villages, all with their own individual charm. The medieval port of King's Lynn has some very interesting architecture.
We provide a comprehensive range of specialist and general acute services to around 331,000 people across West and North Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire. We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers and approximately 500 beds on a single site. Some specialist services and clinics are provided in community facilities, such as the North Cambridgeshire hospital in Wisbech. We work in partnership with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services.
In February 2022 the QEH the Care Quality Commission rated the Trust as 'Good' in all of the core services they inspected, and recommended the Trust moves out of the recovery support system (formerly special measures).
