Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria

RN
First degree or relevant experience
Evidence of on-going CPD at relevant level
Management Diploma or equivalent experience
Leadership qualification or equivalent level of experience

Master’s Degree or working towards

Extensive post registration experience including proven track record of senior operational/service management experience in the NHS in relation to acute in-patient/out-patient services
Experience of managing staff
Positive experience of change management within an acute in-patient/out-patient setting.

Experience of business planning and preparation of business cases
Experience of leading Theatre Practice and standards

Purpose of the job/about the role

This year the Charity has entered into an exciting three-year corporate partnership with a national partner. A key component of this project is to embed Dementia at work support, via this post into the partner organisation across the UK.

This is an exciting role, which with support from the Dementia at work team will see the post holder work in collaboration with the Partner organisation to oversee the development of our Dementia at work offering. This will be support to both family carers of people with dementia and people living with dementia themselves. You will promote Admiral Nursing and a family-centred approach to dementia care offering expertise and guidance regarding practices and policy development to support working carers.

To apply, you must be a registered nurse with the NMC, have significant experience in Admiral Nursing or dementia care, and demonstrate a history of delivering dementia care in various settings to individuals with dementia and their families and carers. You will also have experience of working with corporate partners to develop and deliver on projects designed to support working carers.

Consultant Admiral Nurse – Frailty and Physical Health

Join Dementia UK in a new exciting role as a Consultant Admiral Nurse – Frailty and Physical Health offering expert clinical advice and support to families living with complex issues associated with dementia, frailty and complex physical health needs.

This role presents a unique opportunity to influence policy at a national level, ensuring that the needs of people with dementia, frailty, and complex physical health needs, as well as their families, are represented in key policy and research contexts. As part of the Consultant Admiral Nurse team, you will contribute to and influence our education programs through resource development, increasing awareness and promoting best practices. You will work collaboratively with our partner providers, offering specialist advice and educating fellow Admiral Nurses to a high standard. Additionally, you will be required to spend a minimum of 25% of your time offering specialist clinical advice and support to improve the experience of carers and families, with referrals directed through our delivered clinical service teams, who will provide initial support and information.
