Newport Community Mental Health Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time RNMH for Newport East CMHT for a 8 month fixed term contract. There is a possibility of the position becoming permanent following this. The successful applicant needs to be highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic  about working with service users in the community within the Community Mental Health Team based at Goldtops in Newport.

This is an excellent development opportunity for a Band 5 Nurse  or existing band 6 Nurse with  post registration experience to be supported in developing community nursing skills in an established and evolving integrated community mental health team. You will have knowledge and experience in the care of people with complex, severe and enduring mental health problems in a community setting. You will have the opportunity to link with the wider service which includes the CMHT clinics, CRHTT, AOT and the inpatient ward. 

You will be committed to ensuring the delivery of the highest quality user-centred care and contribute to the development of adult mental health services in Newport. You will take on the role of Care Coordinator for a number of patients. The successful applicant will be part of a developing service providing a high standard and evidence based care to those in Newport.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team  and Care Co-ordinate their own caseload of patients in line with the Mental Health (Wales) measure. You will be committed to ensuring the delivery of the highest quality user-centred care and contribute to the development of adult mental health services in Newport.

The applicant will undertake core CMHT duties such as routine and urgent assessment clinics, assessing, planning and implementation of care. Newport CMHT is in the early stages of a restructure and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to be a part of the service change and shape the way we work within Newport. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
