Job overview

At Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (WUTH), we are proud to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care across our busy, dynamic operating theatres. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our dedicated team within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Theatres at Arrowe Park Hospital.

You will play a key role in providing safe, effective and holistic care for women undergoing obstetric and gynaecological procedures, including elective and emergency caesarean sections, hysterectomies, and laparoscopic surgeries. Our O&G theatres are fast-paced and rewarding, offering the opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to delivering excellence in perioperative care.

Main duties of the job

  • Acting as a scrub practitioner for obstetric and gynaecological surgical procedures
  • Ensuring instruments, equipment, and consumables are prepared and available in line with surgical needs
  • Supporting patients through their surgical journey with dignity and respect
  • Participating in ongoing service development, audits, and training
  • Maintaining a safe environment in line with Trust policies and clinical governance standards
  • Working collaboratively with anaesthetic and recovery staff to deliver seamless care
